The gold medallist, Abdul Latif Romly ain’t the only Malaysian that breaking world records. Some have been successfully holds a Guinness World Record tittle throughout year 2016 respectively.

First and foremost, lets go back to January 22nd where Malaysia has set a new Guinness World Record tittle for “The longest live-streamed festival” with duration of 55h 7m or total of 3,307 minutes / 198,420 seconds. This record was attempted and achieved by Measat Broadcast Network System SDN BHD (M), and was streamed from seven different locations across three countries like India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. The attempt began at 7.00 PM on 22 January and ended at 2.07 AM on 25 January 2016.

Next, lets fast forward to May 16th where 400 female weavers from the Bakun, Murum and Baram communities were awarded a Guinness World Record tittle for “The longest rug” ever hand-crafted, measured  for 1128.272 m, which approximately cover the height of KLCC more than twice (442 m)! This record was awarded to local women’s organisation, Peng Doh Belaga, sponsored by Sarawak Energy Berhad at Belaga, Sarawak. This record has broken previous record holder, Hemtex AB in Sweden in 2010 for 797.51 m manufactured rug.

On September 8th, Escaperoom Holdings SDN BHD (M) was awarded a Guinness World Record for “The most people lighting LED lights in a relay”, with total 708 participants at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park, Serdang. The event was organised in conjunction with 708 months of Malaysia’s Independence, held with total of 30,000 LED white roses lighted simultaneously to symbolise purity, love, hope and promoting love and care regardless age, race, language and culture barrier.

While love and harmony in the air, Mark and Pinky of Vivas Magic (M) has successfully holds a Guinness World Record tittle for “The most costume change illusions in one minute” on the same date, September 8th. They have successfully executed 16 costume illusion changes of 17 costumes at Sunway Pyramid, Kuala Lumpur. HOWEVER, on September 28th, Avery Chin and Sylvia Lim, both Malaysians, have broken previous record by 18 changes of 19 costumes at Happy Valley theme park, Wuhan, China.
