Pack some refreshments, a change of clothes and picnic mat and off we go!  Planned an impromptu short picnic over the beach after a stress out working days – a nice breezy ocean vibe is all we want. Instead settle for one beach, why not two – cause both bays are in walking distance! Win!

[ LOCATION]
How to reach here ? Well, you can navigate here using Waze or GPS applications (search for Teluk Cempedak or Teluk Tongkang). It is located 5 km away from Kuantan, around three hours drive from Kuala Lumpur, depending on traffics.

[ PICNIC TIME ]
There are ample parking spaces there – charged at RM 2 per entry. Bringing necessities along, we make our way to Teluk Tongkang instead Teluk Cempedak because the crowd is less there even though it just a bit pass 11 am.

Beware of the wild monkeys!
They just sitting along the bridge that connects two bays and waiting for people to feed them.
Just walk straight ahead and don’t be afraid. You will arrived at Teluk Tongkang after the bridge shortly.

Teluk Tongkang is a private beach, and the waves are less harsh here.
We settled on a big rock at a coastline and picnic!

But since the tide is high, we don’t go for a dip in the sea, just resting our tired legs in the water instead. Took a lot of pictures and spend our afternoon there.

Around 3 pm, we take our leave and headed back to Teluk Cempedak. We planned to stay longer but we need to drive back to home and reach KL before dark. So, we stride to the end of paved road and back. Along the road, we noticed a lot of amenities like public toilets, fast foods restaurants, prayer rooms, food court and watching deck. There are also a drive thru restaurant too.

[ PLAN YOUR STAY]
It is best if you plan your staying here but there are not many chalets and hotels near the coastline. Take the weekend off to bring you and your family or friend for a short gateway from the city hustles. Plan your staying here at agoda.com and believe me, it is so worth it!!

So, while you are there, take thousands picture and memories as you go and explore the site. Do not forget your hat, shades and space of clothes with you plan to take a dip in the sea. Remember to bring along your camera, okay.

  1. I have to say there are not many travel reviews for Pahang. I know that there are a lot of nice beaches on the east coast but they are not written about enough. Maybe its time to do some exploring to that side of Malaysia. Great that Malaysian writers are giving it its due notice. Good work!

  2. I visited here last month too! The amount of monkeys are really crazy there! They even tried to attack us when we were having our meal at McDonalds!

  3. I have not had the opportunity to really explore Pahang yet. Your post is really inspiring and makes me feel like I should make greater effort to plan a trip to Pahang!
